Waaree Solar Americas, the US subsidiary of Waaree Energies, has secured a 236.22 MW utility-scale module supply contract for a solar project in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. This order further expands Waaree’s order backlog in the US market. The company’s overall order backlog currently stands at approximately INR 530 billion (about USD 5.83 billion). Waaree Solar Americas stated that this order strengthens its competitiveness in the US market amid growing demand for domestically manufactured solar products and resilient local supply chains.

Sunil Rathi, Executive Director of the Waaree Group, said the contract reflects the trust of utility-scale developers in Waaree Solar Americas as a domestic manufacturing partner, and that the US remains a key strategic market for Waaree.

Headquartered in Mumbai, India, Waaree Energies is one of India’s largest solar module manufacturers, with operations spanning module manufacturing, EPC services, and project development. The company has been actively expanding overseas in recent years, with the US being one of its core strategic markets. In addition to its Texas facility, the company also has over 12 GW of module production capacity in India. This order marks progress in Waaree’s domestic manufacturing footprint in the US, helping the company further consolidate its market share in the competitive US solar market.
